At the Kamnath Mahadev Temple, devotees whose wishes are fulfilled offer desi ghee, in any quantity, small or large, as they promised. The ghee is kept in 50 kg earthen matkas in four ordinary storerooms. Some of it is said to be 650 to 700 years old.

There is no air conditioning and no chemical spray, yet there is no bad smell and no flies, insects or mosquitoes. Around 50,000 to 55,000 kg is in store, and it feeds an akhand jyoti that is said to have burned without a break for 650 years.
