I am Anil Goyal, an Indologist and a lifelong student of Delhi and of India's temples. For years I have been visiting old places, reading the scriptures and the records, and asking one simple question: what is this stone trying to tell us?
Bolte Patthar is where I put those answers. Some stories are history you can check in the archives, like Emperor Akbar's punishment of Adham Khan in 1562. Some are the living traditions of the people who still pray at these places, like the Pandavas founding the Yogmaya and Bhairon Nath temples. And some are my own research, done with a group of scholars from various institutions who use the positions of the stars and planets described in our texts to work out dates.
I want families to go and see these places, not just read about them. So every story tells you where to go and what to look for.
Background to come: years of study, institutions, publications or talks.
